My camera is presently a Kodak Z612. I found three reviews for it on dcviews. They were all favorable, saying it was a good "bridge" camera between compacts and full size SLRs. It is a good camera for a beginner to a serious amateur.

Strengths: 1. Full exposure flexibility
2. Live Histogram
3. Built-in image stabilization.
Weakness: 1. Size. Small, but much larger than other compacts.
2. Shutter does not lock if Auto Focus cannot focus the shot.
3. Illogical placement of control buttons.
It is a good starter camera for family use, but will need to be upgraded for serious photography.
