UnderExposure

I look at some techniques on this Site to salvage those too-dark images. Tried all 3 and went with mostly “Levels” and just a little bit with “Curves”.

Photo industry braces for another revolution | Underexposed - CNET News.com
Sigh, everything we learn could become obsolete! When I read this article I kept wanting to ask, "what about the photograph?" What will be the aesthetic experience of this technology?

Week 6 Assignment

This photo shows motion blur.  My camera was moving so the whole image came out blurry.
motion blur

This photo shows overexposure.  The camera was set that it would capture too much light.
The photo was supposed to be of a faucet with water pouring out.
Photobucket

This photo shows improper plain of focus or depth of field.  The camera's focus is centered more on the wall and its details behind the people rather than on the people themselves.
Photobucket

This photo shows subject blur.  The dog moved right as I took the photo so although the fence in the background appears focused, the dog is quite blurry.
Photobucket

This photo shows underexposure.  The was not enough light in the photo so the subjects and the environment around them appear to be much darker than they actually were.
Photobucket

This photo demonstrates wrong color or a poor white color balance.  It was taken inside at my father's retirement and although the lighting inside the room was good, the picture came out a funky yellow color.

Week 6: Selecting, Evaluating, and Archiving Photographs: My photographs are everywhere, how do I get organized?

Cameras these days work to prevent you from making mistakes, the easy modes and program modes are set to work most of the time. In order to learn to control your camera need to make it so that it does not take the picture correctly. Create photographs that document and show the following common errors. Post the photographs to the course web log.
Subject blur/partially blurry photographs

Motion blur/totally blurry photographs

Depth of field/wrong plan of focus

Under exposure/too dark

Over exposure/washed out, not quit wash out but closes I can get.

Incorrect white balance /wrong color

Common Errors; Yea, Right…not easy to do now-a-days!

I sure am enjoying my new camera!!! I really like having it on me.

I took a lot of pictures to get these around 300… it is hard to make a mistake with that stabilizer.

Lesson 5 Reviews of Canon Powershot SD850 IS Digital ELPH. Three websites containing reviews of the camera. www.dcviews.com,  www. dpreview.com, and, www.cameralabs.com.  Using www,dcviews.com I looked up info on my camera.  There are many strengths and few weaknesses to this camera for a point and shoot.  Three strengths I chose are:  optical image stablization;  great photo quality;  and great low light performance.  The weaknesses I dislike the most are: optical view finder is not accurate; the LCD is soft around the corners and redeye is not as good as it should be.  Result of all of this is that while I love my camera I am now thinking of adding a Canon G9 with a larger LCD and more accurate viewfinder.
