Look at what I found! It showed up this morning in one of my RSS feeds.

Common errors photos from Google!

Although I tried to post several photos from Google showing the common errors depicted in the previous assignment, the exploring digital photography site continually indicated that all labels could not exceed 200 characters and would not let me publish my photo postings. I will try again with a new posting rather than attempt to edit the previous postings.

These are examples of the common errors in photographs as taken from a Google site. Each of these photos can be individually selected and changed to reflect the viewer's desire. I wanted to post my photos but cannot yet connect my camera to my computer. I plan to utilize the University computers to connect my camera for posting my pictures for review.

Correction to Camera Review and attempt to post photos.

Apparently the older posts have too many characters to edit by adding a bunch of photos which causes the site not to let me publish the new information, but requires that I create and publish a new posting. Whew, I like this learning process but it certainly allows very little sleep.

3RD ASSIGNMENT - LP

1. Subject Blur/Partially Blurry Photographs
2. Motion Blur/Totally blurry photographs
3. Depth of Field/Wrong plan of focus

4. Over exposure/Washed out

5. Under exposure/Too Dark

editing and enhancing

I used the clone tool on this photo, I took some tips from this site http://www.digicamhelp.com/processing-photos/advanced-editing/clone-tool1.php

Photobucket

This next photo is the original, followed by 3 different versions

Photobucket

This is the least noticeable of my edits, I used the auto correct tools in CS3 on the original.

Photobucket

In this one I added a gaussian blur then used the history brush to bring the subject into focus. This technique only allows you to see what photographer intended you to focus on.

Photobucket

In this version I removed the color from the photo then used the history brush again to put color back onto one of the people. This helps people who never could find Waldo.

I like all three of these edits, they all serve different purposes, one to fix the problems in the photo and the other two to direct your attention to specific details in the photograph.

2ND WEEK ASSIGNMENT - LP

I own and shoot with an Olympus 510 Evolt.

Digital Camera Review
DP Review
Four Thirds Photography

Pros-Image Quality, Dust Reduction System, Image Stabilization System.
Cons-Tendency to underexpose, issues with some White Balance situations, Dynamic Range is diminished compared to other Olympus camera models.

*sorry I'm so late with my assignment, I did this so much before I bought the camera that it was difficult for me to just make myself sit down and do it again*

Web Photo Editing Procedure

http://www.myu.ms/mike/blog/?p=10

1 photo edited in 3 different ways

This is my original photo. I was driving while taking this picture. I know I was being irresponsible, but there was no car ahead or behind me. I just can't resist capturing the moment.

I just crop and tune this one. I tuned  it with shadow, highlights, fill lights and color temperature.
From my original, this one was crop, tune, added graduated tint, saturation, sharpen and warmify.

From original:
crop, auto contrast, straighten, tune, graduated tint, and B&W.
Most of my friends love black & white photos and so do I, but I'm crazy with colored pictures.

One Picture - Three Changes

Using Lightroom
I made these three.

The first is the untouched

The black and white Photo (2nd)
1. Set the image to gray scale with no other adjustments on that palet.
2. When back to the Basic palate and set the following
A. Temp = 6688
B. Tint =-91
C. Exposure = +.15
D. Recovery = 45
E. Fill Light = 64
F. Blacks = 65
G. Brightness = +69
H. Contrast = + 75
Creative Presets – Direct Positive - Lightroom (3rd)
Hand tuned (4th)
1. Adjust the HSL Luminance
a. Orange = -100
b. Yellow = -96
c. Blue = -85
2. Basic
a. Temp = 5650
b. Brightness = +50
c. Contrast = +25
